The area is also known for its cultural events and museums. The Old Stone House Museum is a must for those who have never been. Now including seven buildings on 55 acres, the site was built by and now memorializes the Rev. Alexander Twilight, the first African American to graduate from college. The Bread and Puppet Theater is the brainchild of German Puppeteer and spokesman for the counter-culture, Peter Schumann. Combining larger than life puppets with grass-roots politics in an awe inspiring outdoor amphitheatre. |
